Gas Pipe vs. Water Pipe.

So, how do you tell the difference between the two?  Generally speaking, a gas pipe will be black pipe or flex pipe that is yellow while a water pipe will be copper, pvc, cpvc, or galvanized pipe.  If your head is spinning, that is why we are blessed with plumbers!  They are the ones who identify and troubleshoot.

What it comes down to is ask a plumber…ask a plumber…ask a plumber.  Simply put, a main water supply pipe connected to the water company’s main or to a well on your property supplies water to your house.  The piping downstream of the GAS meter usually is the responsibility of the homeowner. The piping upstream of the gas meter and the meter itself usually are the responsibility of the gas company.

If you are having problems with your gas pipes or water pipes just call Scott.  In Sandwich, Yorkville, and the far Western Suburbs of Chicagoland we are known for our expertise in repairing and installing pipes.  Please visit www.bee-plumbinginc.com and call the appropriate phone number that fits your area.
